“Day One/two. The arrival”

It was a long day of traveling from car to airplane, airplane to car…

I left from Orlando Fl, at 8 am heading to Panama  then from Panama to Managua.  By the end of the day i was having back pain from sitting down for a long time.  Everything went well  from custums to traveling alone and having a laid off in another country.  When i got to Nicaragua, my family was waiting for me at the airport.  It was great to see my mom and grandma again.  When i huged them i couldn’t hold it and a tear rolled down my cheeck. After picking me up, we got in the car and went to a Mall call “Plaza Inter”  in Managua to get something to eat.  we had a nice small meal in the food court.  After we ate i took Alondra, my sister, to the game room so she could play a little.  It started raining in Managua when we were heading home, a  4 hour drive.  On our way we stoped and bouht some Quesillos for Dinner.  When i got to Corinto the rest of the family was waiting for me.  they put the music on and had some platers ready for a little welcome party.  I started going through my suit cases to get the presents and passed them out to everyone.  After the family get together was over i got on my bike i went and surprise some of my friends that had no idea that i was coming.  I went out with them and chat for a long time.  We got on our bikes and went around the Central Park that is like Downtown.  On sundays and friday it has become like a tradition of the youth of my town to go to the park with friends at night.   then went back home got my bed ready and went to sleep.

Today i woke up with the smell of breakfast that my mom and gramdma were cooking. We had breakfast together. Today i still don’t know what i’m doing but  probably will go visit some other friends.   keep checking out the blog i will be posting once every two days. Don’t miss the next Post ‘Day two/three” and its title!  I will be posting pictures soon i’m having some problems with the computer i’m using. I’ll try to solve it as soon as posible!

Now i’m going to help cook and enjoy the lobster and shrimp soup my grandma is making for lunch!

    Dearest Russell,

Enjoyed your first two blogs immensely. Thank you for all the details. It makes me feel almost like I alm there too! I can almost smell the quesillos and the shrimp and lobster! Can hardly wait for photos of Alondra especially.
Daina’s first day at school is the big news here. “It was great,” she told me on the phone. We are so proud of her handling the long day! Tessie and Iris spent most of the day at our house so they could be close to the school in case there was an emergency. It was a relief when she emerged happy at the end the day. Iris handed her a flower from our yard, and the girls got to snack on chocolat covered almonds on the ride home. Everyone had been standing by. Namommy had breakfast at our house so she could give Tessie early morning support. Philip asked about Daina at least twice during the day, and Abi called me to ask how it was going when she could not reach Tessie!

    Love,
    Bubbe
